Visit Lake Hallie
The Village of Lake Hallie, or as the local populace say, “Hallie”, is located between Chippewa Falls and Eau Claire on the Chippewa River and is named after Lake Hallie. Lake Hallie is created by springs and the lake empties into the Chippewa River on the edge of Hallie Golf Club. Because the lake is spring fed, its farthest end never freezes and is year round home to a flock of geese.
Hallie is on an awesome bike trail system, the Chippewa Valley Trail System, that allows one to bike a paved trail north from Hallie through Chippewa Falls, Lake Wissota State Park, and ending at Brunet Island State Park in Cornell, WI. Or bike the trail south to Eau Claire then along the Chippewa River to the confluence with the Red Cedar River where the trail rider has the choice to either continue along the Chippewa River to Durand or cross the century plus old train trestle bridge to take the other leg of the trail system upstream along the Red Cedar River to Menomonie, WI and Lake Menomin. The trail system is on an abandoned railroad grade and winds through agricultural and forestland while following the undeveloped shoreline of the beautiful Chippewa and Red Cedar Rivers. The trail features an abundance of wildlife and natural beauty, with many historical sites along the way. The Chippewa Valley Trail System is several trails joined to form the continuous system that exceeds 80 miles.
